Cable Inspection and Documentation

We inspect and document underwater cables, enabling you to detect deviations early and ensure stable operation over time.

What questions we answer

What is the current state of my cable – and is it stable? Are there signs of damage, wear, or exposure on my cable? Have conditions changed since installation?
When should I implement measures – and why? How do I reduce the risk of faults and operational downtime?

Over time, all cables are affected by the conditions they are in. Currents, erosion, activity, and natural movements in the seabed can lead to changes that are not visible without inspection. Cable inspection and documentation are therefore crucial for maintaining control, reducing risk, and ensuring long-term operational reliability.

We conduct inspection and documentation using ROVs, sonar, and modern survey technology to provide an accurate picture of the cable's actual condition. The work includes, among other things, visual inspection of placement and condition, and measurement of burial depth and any uncovering, documentation of crossing points and vulnerable areas, as well as precise measurement and registration of deviations and risk areas. We particularly analyze the cable's stability in its route, exposure to external influences, effects of current and erosion, as well as signs of mechanical damage and development over time.

The service is used as part of periodic inspection of cable infrastructure, after installation to verify completed work, and when damage or deviations are suspected. It is also particularly relevant after events such as storms or anchor impact, as well as prior to planning of maintenance or measures, where reliable decision-making basis is crucial.

We translate collected data into concrete insights – not just documentation, but a basis for sound decisions, targeted measures, and optimal utilization of the cable's lifespan.
