Marine fouling is rarely visible, but leads to increased fuel costs and reduced propulsion over time. Hull Scan is therefore relevant in cases of suspected fouling or increased fuel consumption, before deciding on hull cleaning or dry-docking, and in situations where current conditions make traditional diving operations challenging.

Submara conducts Hull Scan with an ROV, without the need for divers in the water. The ROV is equipped with AI-based software that automatically maps the hull's condition and calculates «Fuel Penalty» – the direct fuel cost of fouling, expressed as a percentage. The result is delivered as a structured report with hull diagram, categorization and localization of findings, providing a concrete basis for decision-making regarding further actions.

The solution also operates under challenging conditions, functioning in currents up to 2 knots, ensuring execution where other methods are limited. Collectively, this provides customers with rapid insight, reduces uncertainty, and enables sound decision-making, whether the goal is to optimize operations, plan maintenance or avoid unnecessary dry-docking.
