ROV Services

ROVs eliminate HSE risks during inspections of underwater tunnels and structures – providing documentation clients can rely on.

What questions we answer

What is the condition of my tunnel – without sending personnel inside? Can I get a detailed 3D model of the underwater structure?
What is on the bottom, and is the situation normal?

We have equipment adapted for surveying water-filled tunnels over long distances, up to 19 km range. The water flow in the tunnel must be still, as inspection will be performed at an approximate speed of 1 km/h. This results in short downtimes and quick control of the tunnel. The result is a detailed point cloud which can be delivered in various formats. The data can be used for cross-section control, debris detection, design verification, 3D models, etc. For underwater photogrammetry, we use an advanced camera mounted on one of our ROVs, and we monitor this live as the model is built from the control room. Here, we can see if we are covering the required area throughout the inspection. The camera can be mounted on most ROVs, making it flexible to integrate and adapt to various assignments. We perform such surveying from land without personnel in the water. ROV services can be used for many purposes, and we can adapt equipment and solutions to the client's needs and wishes. We offer surveys with various sonars, photogrammetry and visual inspection as part of our standard services. There is a myriad of equipment that can be fitted to an ROV, both large and small. If you need the position of something and also want a visual inspection, these can be combined. If you need to map something, you can also use photogrammetry or sonars to create models and get a better visual representation. The equipment in our fleet is flexible and can be moved/rigged on land and water. There are many possibilities here, and we are happy to help explore the challenges.

ROV services are particularly suitable for mapping water-filled tunnels that cannot be drained, as well as for condition assessment and revision of concrete-, steel- or underwater rock structures.

The service is also used for inspecting wreck cargo, seabeds, and marine installations where an overview of their condition or surroundings is needed. In projects where the HSE risk of using divers is unacceptable, this provides a safer way to conduct inspections. At the same time, it is an efficient choice in situations where there is a need for a quick overview, without time-consuming mobilization of divers.
